Family Engagement at Cox
Students thrive when families and schools lead together.
At Cox Academy, we know that families are students’ first and forever teachers. That’s why family partnership isn’t an add-on — it’s woven into everything we do.
We’re proud to offer many ways for parents, caregivers, and extended family members to get involved, stay connected, and lead within our school community.
Whether you want to volunteer in a classroom, advocate in a parent council, or just stay informed — you belong here, and your voice matters.
Family Leadership at Cox
We believe leadership is a shared responsibility — and that includes parents and caregivers. Join one of our family councils to collaborate, inform decisions, and shape the future of our school.

Cultural & Academic Celebrations
From Día de los Muertos to Black History Month, we celebrate identity and achievement year-round. Students are recognized not just for academics, but for leadership, attendance, and living out our school values. Families are always invited.

Quick Ways to Get Involved
Wednesday Morning Meetings
Start your morning with community! Join us in the courtyard every Wednesday from 8:30–8:45 AM for celebration, announcements, and shared joy. Families are always welcome.
Classroom Volunteering
Support your child’s classroom by helping with activities, materials, or field trips. Volunteers must complete TB clearance and fingerprinting. Contact your child’s teacher or our Family Coordinator to get started.
Los Dichos Program
Celebrate culture and literacy together! Los Dichos brings families into classrooms to co-read bilingual books and lead hands-on activities that reflect and affirm our communities. All materials are provided — and training is included!
Student Achievement Celebrations
Academic growth, strong attendance, positive behavior, and more — we believe every child has something to be proud of. We host mid-year and end-of-year celebrations where families are invited to cheer on their Cobras.
